FAQs

What is an Escape Room?

An escape room, also known as an "escape game", is an adventure game in which players solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues, hints, and strategy to complete the objectives at hand. Players are given a set time limit to solve all the puzzles and escape the room.

Who can experience Know Way Out?

The Know Way Out experience is for anyone who loves puzzles and interactive challenges. Our rooms are not meant to be scary and don't contain mature content. Unfortunately, we are not wheelchair accessible.

What is the age limit?

There’s no strict age limit—we’ve welcomed groups of 12-year-olds who had an amazing time, and even younger children have joined in with their families. We do ask that anyone under 16 be accompanied by an adult, though the adult doesn’t need to take part in the game.

How much does it cost?

Our pricing for a single room ranges between €20–€24 per person, depending on the number of people. For larger groups, we offer additional discounts—just contact us for more details.

How can I make a booking?

You can book online for groups of 6 or fewer during our normal business hours. For larger bookings or bookings outside our usual hours, please contact us directly.

What are your opening hours?

Our normal hours are 1:30pm to 8:00pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but we can often accommodate different times if you contact us directly.

Do you do walk-ins?

We don't accept walk-ins, but you can book online up to an hour before your desired time slot. If it’s less than an hour away, give us a call—we’ll probably be able to get you in!

Do you organize corporate team building and private events?

Absolutely! Our Know Way Out experience is perfect for team-building exercises and group fun, and we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service. We can help you organise any corporate or private event (birthdays, stag/hen dos, etc.).

What do I need to bring and what should I wear?

There’s nothing you need to bring—everything will be provided. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes you can move or run in.

When should I arrive?

We recommend that teams arrive at least 10 minutes before the game starts for your briefing and introduction. If you're driving, make sure to allow time for parking: there is street parking available, as well as a few small car parks nearby.

Where is it?

We’re just a few minutes’ walk from Kilkenny City Centre, on Dean Street at the foot of St. Canice’s Cathedral. Please see our contact page for the exact location.
